did it!

So Hunter was much better later in the day and I managed to finish in time.

Quite happy with her, but I know what I'd do differently next time.

Another sneak peek

I have a sick little big boy today. :( He's just taken himself back to bed so I am hoping I can still get this finished for tomorrow.

Sunday mornings

Aren't you supposed to get a sleep in and have a relaxing day on Sundays? Or does that not count when you are a Mum? Gotta tell you, I am hanging out for the day that Raife sleeps past 5 am.

I've been tagged by Tracey to either write 6 random things OR (since I've done that) 6 things that make me happy.
Then I have to link the person who tagged me and tag 6 more people you know (and let them know you have tagged them in a comment on their blog).

-My babies. They make me happier than I thought possible

-Brad. He can ALWAYS make me laugh.

-Chocolate

-A good coffee

-Fabric!! (kinda obvious right?)

-Mail (anything except bills)

I'm going to tag
Randi
one shabby chick

Anyone else who hasn't been tagged, jump in!

Pancakes anyone?

Working on Izy's quilt again today. Hopefully have something to show for it soon!

Yeah, so I'm a little slow

Bit behind the times but I managed to make a pair of pj pants from the vintage sheet I thrifted and blogged about here (Thanks to Sandi for telling me how to make pretty links)

They are really baggy. You can't really tell but they are. Note to self- Next time don't make seam allowances so huge!!

me

You Are An ENFP

The Inspirer

You love being around people, and you are deeply committed to your friends.

You are also unconventional, irreverent, and unimpressed by authority and rules.

Incredibly perceptive, you can usually sense if someone has hidden motives.

You use lots of colorful language and expressions. You're quite the storyteller!

In love, you are quite the charmer. And you are definitely willing to risk your heart.

You often don't follow through with your flirting or professed feelings. And you do break a lot of hearts.

At work, you are driven but not a workaholic. You just always seem to enjoy what you do.

You would make an excellent entrepreneur, politician, or journalist.

How you see yourself: compassionate, unselfish, and understanding

When other people don't get you, they see you as: gushy, emotional, and unfocused

back...

So I had to put Hunter's quilt aside for a bit and do something else. I was having real trouble with it and lost count of the amount of times I had to unpick it.

Instead I spent some cash on fabric...

FOR ME!!!!...

Made a pencil roll for another birthday party (a friend for Hunter! Our first friend party!)

I love these fabric buttons!

And an organiser for our bills...

Matching baskets to come soon. You can't really tell, but on the tops of the pockets I used a polka-dot fabric which I am loving.

I've always had a bit of a thing for polkadots. Shh!

Long time...

...between posts yet again.
There's a new link in the sidebar for a giveaway starting soon.
Will be back later with some crafty stuff.
Also been trying to think of a suitable giveaway for my 100th post. Ideas??

one thing?

Yep, only one thing to show today.

This pincushion

I have been unpicking the quilting on Hunter's quilt. I am going to redo it properly, with enough safety pins this time. I have also been trying to do stippling on a scrap piece of fabric and decided that yes, indeed, it is important to have a darning foot. So the quilting will have to wait until I can practice a bit. Or I could just do "in a ditch" and be done with it and move onto the next project...Hmm, decisions!

More from yesterday

So, yesterday I went to Mormor's (my Grandma's) to clean as I do every fortnight. And while I was there, she mentioned that Aunt Ida had dropped off a few bags of clothes and I should have a look in case there was anything there I liked. You can imagine what I was thinking, right? Musty old lady clothes. But, apparently they are Ida's granddaughter's clothes and guess what? She is the same size as me and has great taste in clothes so I scored.
Big time.
This stuff looks like it has hardly been touched, let alone worn.

Then I got stuck into making the rest of Alex's present. (Party is on Sunday)

And I basted and pinned Hunter's quilt. Took me 3 goes. But it's done and I started quilting! Just doing in the ditch. It's a single bed size.
Can't wait to start on the other boys' but I'm trying not to rush the process and just enjoy the ride.

Have a great weekend!

say it with me...

Daycare day!

Please don't get me wrong, I love my babies. But it is so nice to be able to do something for 2 minutes without interruption. These daycare days make it possible to be the smiling, happy mama I am for the other 5 days. Bit of breathing space if you will.

My Mum brought me these flowers on Sunday

The postman brought me these fabrics on Monday

They are sitting behind me, calling me...

Alas I can not answer them

Because I am (AM) going to finish Hunter's quilt first. I have done the top (hooray!) I have bought the batting (hooray!) and I have done the backing (Hip hip hooray)!!!

Just need to baste it, pin it, quilt it and bind it. *sigh* Not long to go now!

I have also been posting some goodies away

This is a bag of selvedges for RicRac http://vintagericrac.blogspot.com/

This is my contribution to Softies for Mirabel ( I am so late)

Tagged?

Thanks Bee! http://abusybee.blogspot.com/
Here are the rules …
1. Link to the person who “tagged” you.
2. Post the rules on your blog.
3. Write six random things about yourself.
4. Tag six people at the end of your post.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
6. Let the tagger know your entry is up.

Ok,

1. I took a road trip across the USA but don't ask what I saw cos I really do not remember, I was mostly drunk or hungover!!

2. I have a "thing" for shoes. LOVE them. Any kind, it doesn't matter. I have recently been buying more too. Shh!

3. I always thought I'd have a large family and that they would mostly be girls (3 boys so far!)

4. I find it really disturbing that there won't be enough water one day. I hate the fact that my boys will not be able to run under a sprinkler or play on a slip and slide.

5. I really think I would be a great 50s housewife. As long as I was a rich 50s housewife with a cleaner. Oh, and the internet. ;)

6. I adore frozen margaritas but have yet to find the perfect recipe.

I have no idea who to tag. I think everyone I read has done this already. If you haven't, then I tag you!!

Can someone tell me how to make my links pretty? With just a word instead of the address?
Thanks

Over winter

My children seem to have been sick for most of winter. It's driving me nuts.

It's so hard to sew with a child on your lap!! (Trust me I tried)

I did manage to do a few little things though

Like this pin board for me

And took apart the booties and redid them

And took apart these overalls

TO make this crayon and pad roll for Alex's party. I wasn't happy with the last one so I redid it.
I used these buttons that I won in the giveaway from this post http://selina-whatwerewethinking.blogspot.com/2008/06/winner.html
