Thrifting

I really prefer that to op shopping don't you?

So lately, on the way to all my different jobs I've been stopping in at different op shops, Vinnie's, the Salvos. And I've been finding things!!

Mostly pillowcases:

The one on the right is a pair! for 50c! A bit faded but still rocking.

Then I found a doona cover, I really like the mustard colour.

And more pillowcases, I am loving the yellow colours at the moment.

The one on the right came in it's original package and is in perfect condition.

I'm not so sure I want to give it away! I still need to work on pinning though. This was fresh out of the dryer and so crinkly and perfect.

Edited to add- This quilt was made using a tutorial from the talented crazy mom quilts. (I only used block A and did white borders.

So I posted away 3 pincushions to those girls who entered my giveaway but didn't win. Strangely enough I still haven't heard from the grand prize winner (lol)...




And here is the wrap I made for Mel's gratitude swap. Although no-one can get in touch with my partner...

From her swap answers she said she loved pink and loves chocolate so I also put in my absolute fave You'll love Coles mint chocolate but because that seemed dodgy I added a block of caramel chip chocolate. I also decorated some cards and put them in, ready to use.

I did receive my vintage fat quarters and had a quick peek but it's been another manic week so I will photograph them today and show you all later.

Izy's quilt is done!! In the washing machine now so hopefully I can blog that later today (*insert dancing with joy smilie*)... as long as it doesn't fall apart.

Life...

...just got a whole lot more complicated.

I just got a new job!! I started last week, hence the lack of posts. I am now a domestic cleaner which doesn't sound all that glamorous but is really going to help pay the bills. Plus I didn't need experience/training or professional references. (Something I can't really get from my children!)

And...

I am going back to school! I am going to finish/restart my Diploma of Children's Services. It's hopefully going to be fully paid for by the Government- Mum's returning to work thing so how coudl I say no? This starts next month and will go til December next year. It's only 3 hours of a Tuesday evening so I am hoping that will fit in ok with everything else.

All this will probably mean a bit less posting but I am hoping you will stick with me.

I received my labels last week here on etsy, but couldn't find them when I wanted to take a pic so you have to wait for that. (LOL) I already attached them to Sue and Car's giveaway gifts before I posted them last week so start looking to the mailboxes girls. Still waiting on Ruth and Mary's addresses *tut tut*!!
